Hi...I'm just returning to carp fishing after six years of cycling. I couldn't fit cycling, fishing, and work into my schedule. So...I retired!! I now fish carp just about every day in northern Illinois. I fished with sweet corn and dough balls for a number of years from a boat. A number of years ago we tried to form a carp fishing club in Rockford, with the help of two UK transplants. I met one of them again this year when I resumed fishing and he introduced me to the method system. I've now turned part of my basement into a mini lab for new baits. This weekend I got an email from Wacker Baits about the new B product. I ordered it and Paul got it out to me by noon today.....great service! Trying it for the first time in the morning. Sure hope it lives up to the advertisements!!

Hi Larry
Which product(s) did you buy?
The important thing is to follow the instructions to the letter, as a constant flux of 'B' must be established and maintained in the swim. if you can do that, you'll catch!!

I purchased Wacker's "Compulsion ". Tried it for the first time this morning but it didn't get a fair shot. My partner has been bugging me to try some of our favorite spots from the lake side in his boat. Lets just say we tried it and we don't need to do it again!! I'll take the stability of the bank or pier any day. I followed Paul's instructions for using it in my method mix and soaked a cup full of boiled maize overnight in a solution.
I'm looking forward to trying things again in the morning....but not from the boat. I'm wondering if it's essential to use the enhanced method mix for the entire packing. Would a "golf ball size" clump kneaded into the feeder be adequate? I also want to try using a spray bottle to mist various other baits that I'm using.

Hi Larry
A golfball size ball every 15 mins, or an 'orange' every 20 - 25 mins works out about right for lakes. On rivers with decent flow, double the dose of compulsion for the same feeding rate.
You can use a golf ball wrapped in normal chum if you cast every 15 mins or so.
Hope tht helps,
Pat
