I'm using the powder B...Wacker's Compulsion. I would think that it wouldn't deteriorate when mixed dry with a particle mix and sealed. But, how long will it last when mixed & moistened for a method mix....still kept in sealed container and refrigerated after use? The weather lets you fish a few days and then you're on hold a few more. I'm never sure how much bait to prepare and normally have some left that I don't want to pitch.

Hello Larry.
You are correct it keeps almost indefinitely if kept dry. Once moistened it does start to deteriorate quite quickly. I have found ground bait kept in the refrigerator for up to 1 week is still ok. After this I throw it out, bacteria attacks B and basically kills it. What you can do, is if the bait still looks ok is to add some more B to it before use.
Hope this helps.

Hi Larry
Best to think about 'B' like apple juice - can sit forever on the shelf (or as a powder in the case of 'B'), but must be used right away or refrigerated after opening (making the 'B' powder wet). This is because 'B' is susceptible to bacterial degradation - just like food - after it gets wet.
PS Posted your PB at the site - nice fish!
