I just wanted to let you know I used B for the first time this morning at the small lake near my house.
I normally catch 100 to 200 bluegills in the 1 to 3 ounce range with the occasional small bass or catfish thrown in.
Today though was very different. Fishing B laced cheese paste over groundbait I had 15 cats,3 were little kittens of about 5 ounces each, the other 12 were 1.5 pounds to 3 pounds. for about 18 pounds total. This is by far the best weigh I have had in the three years I have fished there. In fact, one of the OLD BOYS who I see there regularly commented that he had not seen that many cats caught at one time in the years he had been fishing there.
How did I use the B ? My cheese paste had 1/2 tea spoon mixed into it. My goundbait had 1 cup of cracked bird seed, soaked over night in B. I was going to mix the groundbait with a 1/2 L of the soak, But I left the bottle on the kitchen counter, so who knows what would have caught with that in the GB !
Feeding was 4 tangerine size balls at the start, then a walnut size nugget regularly after that. I fished the paste on a size 8 hook under a driftbeater type float. the float was set to fish 6 inches overdepth. Bite;s were classic lift bites followed by a plunge.
I had to wait about 35 minutes for the first bite, then had bites steadily until I packed up. I did lose one fish due to the hook length breaking. I would like to think it was a bigger one but I will never know !
Roll on Sunday morning and I can't wait to use B where there are some bigger fish !
Thank you Pat and Trev, I am hooked.
