Hi Ian
Sorry to take so long in getting back to you. My computer at home took yet another dive, and I have just got it back up and running yesterday.
The heavier line is a good way to go. I use silly strengths at times 4.5kg main with 3.75kg hook length. As long as it is a high quality line I am sure is does not effect the bites to any noticable degree. You are fishing with similar elastics to myself. I have been using the fox 14 -18 for quite sometime now for the bigger fish, but i keep it so that it just returns into the pole.

Hi Ian. The wacker baits compulsion contains raw B. in it. Can I ask what make and number of elastic and line etc you are using? Are you using a carp pole or a modified match pole? Sometimes actually stepping down to slightly light elastics will land more big fish, but I would not recommend this if fishing were there are a lot of snags. Sorry to here you are losing your job, but great if it means more fishing and being able to pay bills etc all at the same time. Do some fishing for me!!!

There are tricks to landing big carp on the pole. No. 1 do not lift the pole up in the air until the end of the fight. Try and keep the tip over the top of the fish if possible. The harder you pull one way the harder the fish pulls in the opposite direction. If you can keep the tip of the pole over their head they just go deep. If you do start to lose control, quickly dip the tip of the pole under the water. Then wait until the tension decreases, at this point the fish will be back under the tip of you pole. You can then continue to play the fish out. When bringing in a big fish, if possible I do not like to break down the pole too quickly, just incase the fish makes a dart for it again. What I like to do is rest the butt of my pole back on my roller and wait until I am ready to break down to the last couple of sections for landing the fish. This way you can very quickly re-ship the pole back out if required.
Hope this helps Trevor

Hi Jamie.
We all have our favourite combinations of flavours, colours etc. I do know Des and his team have had many a success with his flavours, but who knows on any given day what will come up trumps. All waters seem to respond to some flavours better than others, so I like to go with ones I have found best for me, on those given waters. But saying that I am willing to try any colour, flavour or combination to try and catch more fish.

Pat & Myself fished our first competition of the year on Saturday. It had been nice weather here all last week, with temps pushing 70F, Saturday temps just above freezing and horizontal wet snow all day. We manages 4th I think. But yes definately feed up with weather like that. BRRRRRRR

You have to be careful when making something like a glug. The lifespan will be quite short after being used. Any bacteria coming into contact with B will attack it. If it were made the night before for a days fishing or two, I am pretty sure it would be good.

Nice one Jamie. Looking at what you have typed, I would guess you caught just about everyting that came into your swim. With a DNW and 4lbs either side, you cannot ask for much more.

Hi Jamie.
Great to hear that anglers are asking after where to get some Biosource products. If people start to ask SBS baits for some I am sure it will lead to a speed up in availability. It might also start to create a buzz around takle shops, and in turn them asking SBS for products.
Great stuff Jamie.

Hi Ian
Well done!
I am guessing that you accidentally on purpose forgot to mention to your colleagues about B.
