Pat and myself work very closely with the JJC fishing club, and I am going to attempt this weekend to use a new piece of kit to obtain some new video images, from the worlds smallest camcorder. From the prospective of looking down from above to the hook bait.
The device in question weighs only 22 grams. It will record for up to 2 hours.
I have made up a pole rig in 3 sections.
The first section is using a 25 gram Tubertini pole float. This I have 16lb fluorocarbon line running through to a a double overhand loop knot both ends. One to attach to the pole and the bottom end to attach to the camera section.
The second section contains the camera. This I have attached using a piece of heat shrink tubing to a 10" length of stiff rig tubing. through the rig tubing I have run also 16lb fluorocarbon, with a snap swivel attached to both ends, with the lower one having a small rubber bead above it, to ensure it dose not pull through the rig tubing, or split it.
The bottom section is just a 3' length of 5.5lb mono, tied to a size 14 PR28 hook, with a double overhand loop knot at the other end for attaching to the camera section. This section has been made 3 feet long, as the camera has a 3 foot focal length. It has much lighter line than the rest of the rig, in case of snagging or snapping, we really need this part to be the weak section, as do not wish to risk losing the camera.
If I get any good shots, I will add them on here to the video section.
