Pat and myself, ventured back out to Braidwood Cooling lake last Saturday. It was my real first try of my new catfish bait, and it seems to work pretty well. The only problem with Braidwood is that it is full of cats between 8 & 10 ounces. I was trying to hook one of the larger ones in the lake so I was fishing with a 22 mm size bait. The problem was I got literally dozens of bites, but with very few fish, as the small cats hit the bait really hard, but obviously could not get such a large bait into their mouths properly. Don't like to mention it, but we were also fishing for carp, and Pat gave me a good bashing, with 96lbs of carp to my 50lbs.
Tight lines Trev.

It was a good day out - we ran out of bait so had to pack up with the fish still biting - I needed just a couple more for the magic 100 lb. Oh well. Trev is being modest, if he'd have not spent a lot of time fishing for cat's with his new bait he would have caught just as many carp as me - they were having corn through a method feeder with gusto! I had a couple of casts with Trev's bait - one carp, one cat, so it works for both species. Thing with the corn was that i could bury it in the method ball - this seemed to sort out the carp over the much smaller cats. All in all a great day with a few good lessons learned.

Hey, pat and trev', sounds like a great day out. Have been having some fun down here between the heavey rains of the past few weeks. Ian
